Stamp Duty Holiday- EPC's

STAMP DUTY NOW STARTS AT £175,000.The Treasury has unveiled a stamp duty holiday that will see the threshold property value for lifted from £125,000 to £175,000 from 3-9-08 until September 2009.The move will provide an exemption from stamp duty land tax for land transactions consisting entirely of residential property sold for £175,000 or less.
This relief will apply to transactions with an effective date on or after September 3rd 2008 and before September 3rd 2009.
The decision follows mounting pressure on the Government to take action to help the housing market by easing the lower end.

The Goverment have confirmed that EPC's (Energy Performance Certificate's) part of the Home Information Pack, for domestic property will now be valid for three years rather than the original one year.
